Cookie policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This page lists everything this site stores on your device.
Things that are always used
These are needed for features you ask for, so they don’t need consent. They are not cookies — they’re stored in your browser’s local storage, never sent to me, and never shared.
- mnc-theme — remembers whether you picked light or dark mode. Kept until you clear your browser data.
- mnc-consent — remembers your answer to the cookie banner. Kept until you clear your browser data.
The site also stores pages you’ve already visited so you can re-read them offline (this is called a “service worker cache”). It is only on your device.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
If the cookie banner appears and you click Accept, Google Analytics sets these cookies:
- _ga — tells visits apart, so I can count readers. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_(ID) — keeps track of the current visit. Expires after 2 years.
If you click Reject, or ignore the banner, these are never set.
Social media posts (only if you tap them)
Some articles include posts from X, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. At first you only see a plain text copy of the post, and nothing is loaded from those sites. If you tap Show the original post, the post is loaded from that platform, and the platform may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy. If you never tap, nothing is loaded.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to change your choice. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings.
For more on how your data is used, see the Privacy policy.
